Michelle was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ, and attended Texas Lutheran University, where she earned a degree in Theology with a concentration in youth ministry. While in college, she worked at an emergency children’s shelter, which inspired her to pursue social work. After graduation, Michelle served in roles supporting the elderly through home health care, assisting women transitioning from prison, working with homeless youth, and serving at Children’s Protective Services.

In 2005, Michelle answered a call back to youth ministry and has been serving ever since. In May 2025, she was ordained as a Deacon in the ELCA and currently serves at Zion Lutheran Church.

Michelle has lived in Houston, TX since 2002 and has been married to her husband, Jason, since 2003. Together they share their home with two lively dogs, along with her parents and her aunt.  A lifelong member of the ELCA, Michelle brings a deep commitment to faith, community, and service to her ministry.
