Welcome to Zion Lutheran Church
You and your family are very welcome here.
At Zion, we celebrate the full image of God in you and your family. We welcome you without exception.
We welcome you in all your humanness – age, sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression, race, faith tradition, physical or mental abilities, national origin, marital status, addiction status, economic status, political affiliation, or any of the other things that too often divide us. As such, we are also committed to the work of racial equity.
Our unity is in Christ.
Sunday Worship
Worship is fundamentally about what God is doing and our response to God’s action. In worship we encounter the resurrected Christ, lifted by the Spirit, and sent out to love the world.
You’ll experience:
- Music that stirs the soul
-
Scripture and preaching that connect faith to daily life
-
Holy Communion, open to all without exception
We believe worship follows a holy rhythm (aka liturgy):
-
We gather in God’s grace.
-
We hear God’s Word of promise and challenge.
-
We share the meal of Christ’s love at an open table.
-
We are sent into the world as Spirit-filled people of hope.
Communion
At Zion, the table belongs to Christ, not to us. That means it’s open to everyone—without condition. Every Sunday we say it clearly: “You don’t need to be a Lutheran, a member, or even a grown-up to receive communion. Everyone is welcome here.”
This is what grace looks like: no barriers, no exclusions—just the real presence of Christ given freely for you.
Come as you are!
God doesn’t care what you’re wearing, and neither do we. Shorts, jeans, yoga pants, dresses—come in what makes you feel comfortable. What matters most is that you’re here.
Reconciling in Christ (RIC) Congregation
Zion is proud to be a Reconciling in Christ congregation in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). That means we proclaim God’s love loudly and clearly:
-
LGBTQIA+ people are beloved and affirmed.
-
People of every race, culture, ability, and background are fully part of our family.
-
All questions, doubts, and stories are welcome.
At Zion, you don’t have to fit a mold. You are already loved—just as you are, and just as you are becoming.

Children and Youth in Worship
Children are especially welcome at Zion and in worship!
Each week, we start and end worship together. During worship, offer a children’s sermon followed by an invitation to “Children’s Chapel” – which is held in another space that engages kiddos in age-appropriate ways.
Kids return back to the sanctuary right before Communion.
In addition, we also have a spacious kid-friendly area with chairs and books near the entrance. Upstairs, there is a “comfort room” for any who would prefer it, which has space for parents to engage in worship while children crawl, play, and even sleep. We also have a staffed nursery for children ages 0-3 starting at 9am through the end of worship every week.
Youth welcome to serve in worship
Youth (ages 8+) are invited to acolyte, help with tech, read lessons, or otherwise assist in worship leadership.
