Lent at Zion – 2026

Lent is a season of returning—

– Returning to God, to prayer, to community, and to the honest truth that we are both dust and deeply loved. For forty days, the church slows down on purpose. We make space to notice where God is at work in our lives, to confess what weighs on our hearts, and to practice habits that draw us closer to Christ and to one another.

At Zion, Lent is not about perfection or giving things up just to prove our spiritual strength. It is about making room.

Room for reflection, for scripture, for conversation, and for the quiet work of the Holy Spirit shaping us into people of compassion and courage.

Quick View – Lenten Schedule:

Lenten Education for All Ages | Sundays 9:45–10:45am

During Lent, Zion learns together across ages and stages of faith. Adults can explore How Space Shapes Faith or join Lectio and Lent for quieter, relationship-centered spiritual practice. Youth and Jr. Youth will reflect on cultivating and letting go, while our youngest Zioners are nurtured through Godly Play and nursery care.

Lenten Journey Worship | Sundays 11:00am – 12:00pm

Through themes like resistance, trust, and waiting, we practice noticing God’s presence in everyday life.  Worship this season includes simple, interactive prayer stations and encourages daily reflection at home, helping faith take root not only in church but in the rhythms of ordinary life.

Whether you are familiar with Lent or simply curious, you are warmly invited to explore this season of renewal with us.

Lenten Lunch & Lectio Divina | Wednesdays at 12:00pm

Each Wednesday during Lent, we gather for a simple meal and a simple practice. Over lunch, we slow down with scripture using Lectio Divina—a gentle rhythm of reading, listening, and sharing. It’s a midweek pause to nourish both body and spirit as we reflect on our Lenten theme: Cultivating and Letting Go.
