Events are a big deal at Zion. Go beyond the what, where, and when to learn more about the purpose (why) of each event

March MLK Unity Parade

Come March With Us—the MLK Unity Parade

Join us Monday, January 19, 2026 to honor the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. At Zion, participating in the MLK Unity Parade is one way we live out what we believe: that faith is not only spoken in worship, but practiced in public.

Marching is an act of witness. It’s a visible way of saying that God’s love is for all people—and that we are committed to justice, dignity, and racial equity in our community and beyond. As a Reconciling in Christ (RIC) congregation, Zion has named this commitment clearly.

We march because love that seeks justice must be visible.

Come walk with us.

Blood Drive

Give the Gift of Life — Blood Drive This Sunday!

Zion is hosting a community blood drive this Sunday, and you’re invited to roll up your sleeve and make a life-saving difference. Donating blood is one of the simplest, most immediate ways to care for our neighbors, and every donor truly matters.

Sunday, December 14 – starting at 9:30am
Schedule a time: https://www.commitforlife.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/396178

Whether you’re a first-time donor or a long-time regular, your participation helps ensure local hospitals have the lifesaving resources they need. Thank you for showing up with love in such a tangible way.

Over-Priced Bake Sale for ELCA Good Gifts

Zion Youth Host the “Over-Priced Bake Sale”
— Sunday, December 14!

9:45 a.m. in the Lobby

Zion’s youth are stepping up in a big way this weekend as they host our delightfully Over-Priced Bake Sale to support ELCA Good Gifts. Swing by the lobby on Sunday morning, grab a treat (or several), and know that every generously “over-priced” dollar goes directly to ELCA ministries making a difference in more than 80 countries around the world.

We are incredibly proud of our young people for organizing and leading this effort. It’s a beautiful expression of our commitment to leaders at every level, and a joyful reminder that when our youth lead, our whole community is strengthened.

Come hungry. Come generous. Come ready to cheer on our young leaders as they help share God’s love in tangible, world-brightening ways.

Kid’s Baking Kitchen – 2nd Saturday

2nd Saturday at Zion — One Big Night of Fun!

Saturday, December 13 • 5:00–8:00 PM • The Great Room

We’re kicking off the weekend with a cozy, joy-filled evening for families, kids, neighbors, and anyone who loves a good time. Join us in the Great Room for a night packed with baking, bouncing, snacking, and Christmas cheer.

Kid’s Baking Kitchen

Our Kid’s Kitchen crew will be whipping up delicious goodies to sell at Sunday’s delightfully Over-Priced Bake Sale — with every penny supporting ELCA Good Gifts. It’s hands-on fun for a great cause. Flour everywhere? Probably. Worth it? Absolutely.

Frozen Pizza Potluck

Bring a frozen pizza (or two!) to toss in the ovens and share with the crowd. No fancy toppings required — unless your family tradition is fancy toppings, in which case… carry on.

Indoor Bounce House

Because nothing says “church community” like joyful chaos in soft inflatable form. Kids can jump, bounce, and get their wiggles out all night long.

Christmas Movie on the Big Screen

We’ll wind down with a kid-friendly Christmas movie projected larger than life. Bring a blanket, grab a slice of pizza, and settle in.

Sunday Follow-Up: The Over-Priced Bake Sale

Come back Sunday, December 14 to support our bakers and help raise funds for ELCA Good Gifts — one cookie at a time. It’s the sweetest justice work around.

Plus — Lights in the Heights Parking Fundraiser!

Installation at Living Mosaic

Join Us in Celebrating Living Mosaic
Zion is proud to support Living Mosaic—a boldly welcoming ELCA and Reconciling in Christ community that celebrates God’s diverse and beloved people. Their ministry of advocacy, shared meals, and neighbor care creates a sacred home for all who gather.

We’re especially delighted to join in the installation of Pastor Sue Schneider and Deacon Kinnon Falk on Sunday, December 14 at 5:30 p.m. at Living Mosaic (2515 Waugh Dr). Their leadership will deepen this vibrant ministry’s call to show up with love in real and everyday ways.

Ordination of Amber Harbolt

Celebrate with us!
We’re thrilled to join in celebrating Amber Harbolt’s ordination this Saturday, 12/13, at 1:30 p.m. at Spirit of Joy! in The Woodlands. Amber served Zion with such generosity and wisdom as our interim Director of Operations, guiding us through important seasons of organization and decision-making. We rejoice in God’s call on her life and in her stepping into the ministry of Word and Sacrament.

LITH Parking Fundraiser

Park With Purpose at Lights in the Heights!
Every December, the Heights transforms into a twinkle-town of music, lights, and cheerful chaos—and Zion sits right in the heart of it.

Each year, we open our parking lot (corner of Beauchamp and Pecore) for Lights in the Heights as a donation-based fundraiser to support our Children & Youth summer camps.

If you’re heading into the neighborhood festivities, park with us—rest easy knowing your car is safe, and enjoy your evening knowing your donation helps send our kids to summer camp. Your night of lights and music becomes their week of growing, playing, and discovering God’s love in community.

Love Lives Here… and on LITH night, it even parks here.
